Paul Barnett is an ancient historian, New Testament scholar and a former Anglican Bishop of North Sydney from 1990 to 2001. He is a prominent historical writer on the rise of Christianity and the historical Jesus. He has travelled extensively in Israel, Turkey, Jordan and Italy. He has recently enjoyed leading educational tours through the Biblical lands.

Paul Barnett holds a MA Hons from the University of Sydney, a THL from the Australian college of Theology, a BD Hons and PhD (London). He was ordained in 1965 an ministered at St Barnabas’s Broadway in Sydney and North Terrace in Adelaide before becoming the master of Robert Menzies College at Macquarie University from 1980 to 1990. He is currently a fellow in ancient history at Macquarie Universtiy in Sydney and a teaching fellow at Regent College, Vancouver, Canada.

Join us between 1pm and 5pm as we work together to keep the grounds and buildings in good condition. Even if you can come for only part of this time we should be most greatful.

To help us organise the jobs that will need to be done a sheet with all the various tasks listed may be found on the table by the bookstall. It would be very helpful if you would write your name against those tasks that you may be able to do.

Philip Griffin our Senior Minister will be preaching at all three of our church gatherings from 1 Peter 2:9-10, & 3:15. We shall be praying that the Lord may be pleased to grow his church. We shall also commission all those who serve us and our great Lord as Growth Group Leaders, SRE teachers, Youth and Children’s Leaders and Ministry Apprentices.

Parish Morning Tea for Angus & Sarah Cameron and Kevin & Natalie Chan.

Angus and Kevin were full time staff and ministry apprentices for 2 years and then served this year as student ministers. Natalie and Sarah are long term members of St Andrew’s. They leave us as Angus and Kevin take up student minister positions elsewhere to further their training.

A special morning tea will be held at St Andrew’s so that we can farewell them in a more relaxed way. We ask you to contribute $5 each to provide for a more substantial morning tea.
